Enriched virtual tour

The team from the Design and Digital Practices laboratory at EESAB in Rennes (Erwan Mahé) and Inrap (Laurent Beuchet) continue to collaborate with the Department of Côtes d'Armor in order to enrich the virtual tour of the Château du Guildo with new content.
The Departmental Council entrusted the company Virtual-Archéo with the task of producing 3D and 360° views of several interior spaces of the castle at the end of the 14th and beginning of the 15th centuries. Indeed, thanks to the archaeological traces present in the elevations and the construction debris found in the stratigraphic layers, the archaeologist who led the excavation, Laurent Beuchet (Inrap Grand Ouest), worked with an architect, Elen Esnault (also Inrap Grand Ouest), in order to reconstruct the volumes of the buildings and rooms of the castle. The remains of decorative elements and furniture discovered also allowed him, by discussing with a specialist from the Brittany Regional Inventory service, to restore the supposed layouts of several rooms as well as their furniture. Yann Bernard (Virtual-Archéo) then graphically reworked the files to give them the appearance that you can discover by (re)visiting the virtual tour of the castle.
